Town of Morristown

Cole Media Inc. handles the day-to-day media relations for the Office of the Mayor and Administration for the Town of Morristown (NJ). Projects have included the successful roll out of the use of body cameras by the Morristown Police Department and publicity for the annual Saint Patrick Day Parade.

Newark: A City We Can All Believe In

Under the direction of Sakina Cole, the communications team at the City of Newark handled the public relations, media relations and marketing efforts for the City of Newark in the first 100 days of Mayor Ras J. Baraka being in office. The team conceptualized the tagline, “A City We Can All Believe In,” and created publications to disseminate the message of believing in Newark. The team continues to produce collateral materials that incorporate the new brand.

Newark Mayoral Candidate Cory Booker

Cole Media Inc. staffed the press office of Cory Booker during his successful run for Mayor of the City of Newark and handled various media activities during the campaign to include news conferences, special events and crisis management. Cole Media Inc. successfully represented Booker to the media and regularly placed him in major media outlets in the number one media market. Appearances included but were not limited to Good Day NY, Univision 41, ABC, NBC and CBS morning and evening news programs. Booker was regularly featured in the New York Times, the Star Ledger and the New York Post, as well as ethnic publications such as Quisqueya and Local Talk.

Destination Paterson Magazine

Cole Media Inc. conceptualized and created the editorial, design, roll out and marketing of Destination Paterson, a publication produced for the Paterson Restoration Corporation to change the perception of the City of Paterson by highlighting the city’s economic development, retail, tourism and social scene. 30,000 issues were distributed to residents and businesses, and throughout commuter and tourist locations in Paterson and the surrounding counties. The mission is to promote economic development, community resources and awareness of the rich, undiscovered resource that Paterson and the surrounding areas provide.

Newark Municipal Council Members

Cole Media Inc. published The Council Monitor, a quarterly 16-page newsletter on behalf of the Newark Municipal Council to publicize the efforts of the nine-member council. The issues are conceptualized and produced to reach a diverse audience to include low-income and Spanish-speaking communities. In addition, Cole Media Inc. has handled all public relations activity for the nine members of the Newark Municipal Council.

NJ Assemblyman Charles Mainor

Cole Media Inc. managed the day-to-day communications and media needs for Assemblyman Charles Mainor, 31st District (Hudson County). Highlights include developing the “Peace on Gun Violence” media campaign which was publicized on NJTV and News12, NJ.com, and the Jersey Journal; securing media for the announcement of Angelie’s Bill regarding jitney buses in Jersey City, and securing media to include the Chasing NJ jitney bus tour, the Jersey Journal and AP coverage.

E3, Excellent Education for Everyone

Cole Media Inc. developed the “School Choice is Your Choice” media campaign to include publicizing the use of Fantasia as the official spokesperson of E3’s Opportunity Scholarship Act awareness campaign. We used a range of media to include collateral materials, newsletters and advertisements on buses and television to include ABC, My9, NJ Transit, Cablevision and local newspapers.

United Way of Essex/West Hudson Counties

Cole Media Inc. has developed campaigns for United Way of Essex/West Hudson to include the campaign to promote their income education efforts with the makers of the Waiting for Superman documentary, a film about the state of urban education in America.

Mid-Atlantic Investment Alliance

Cole Media Inc. successfully branded and publicized this developer’s “Black Wall Street Development Project” and created the “Passing Wealth Forward” campaign to help potential homeowners in under-served communities purchase homes. This project was featured on NBC Nightly News, News 12 NJ, NJN, the Star Ledger and other trade and local media outlets.
